Sculpture and the Lions of Paris #4

After Parisian Lion fashion, last but not least, there's home decor with Lions.
Perhaps this stone bench with lion based griffons for the foot of your bed?
Be sure to reinforce the floor and hold onto your dreams!
At Versailles, this gilt bronze lion is part of a fire place mantle.
Beautifully detailed fur and eyes.

Also at Versailles, a pair of lions covered in needlework doilies.

Thank you Beatriz Cunha for identifying Vasconcelos's work.

Hi, Patrick.
those lions covered in crochet doilies are by portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos,
the first woman artist to show at Versailles, I hear...
Aren't they great?

Thank you Beatriz, I'll make the attribution. She also had enormous lobsters covered in similar material.

you're welcome. Nice of you to mention my name.
...and the links to Joana's work.
